The Future of Manufacturing Presented at LAM 2012

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) April 06, 2012

A record breaking audience attended the Laser Institute of America’s fourth-annual Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM) workshop in Houston, which featured a slew of success stories emerging from wider acceptance of the technology.

“The use of CAD-directed lasers to produce consumer products, aviation parts, medical prostheses, and more out of metal or plastic powder is gaining acceptance around the world,” said keynote speaker Terry Wohlers. LIA devoted more of the LAM 2012 workshop to the process because, as fellow keynote Dr. Ingomar Kelbassa of Fraunhofer ILT summarized, the technology offers “complexity for free and individualization for free.”

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In a continuing effort to help graphic communications providers grow their businesses, produce more jobs and control costs, Xerox Corporation will introduce four new business development resources at Graph Expo.

Three of the new Xerox ProfitAccelerator Business Development Resources provide training in digital sales, financial management and marketing. The fourth combines consulting and software as a service (SaaS) to deliver a Web-to-print solution.

“In our competitive market and uncertain economy, everyone is looking for an edge,” said Joe Rickard, president, Intellective Solutions. “Xerox’s new services address the real needs of graphic communications companies to improve the way they market, sell and run their businesses.”

New Sales Training Course
“Selling Digital Printing: Giving Your Customers Value” workshop revises Xerox’s foundation digital printing sales session. It is available in eight- and four-hour versions that are conducted by Xerox and independent consultants.

Financial Management Class
Graphic communications providers will gain insight on how to make the right business decisions, drive profits and obtain better bank credit lines with the online video program, “Profit Mastery: Creating Value and Building Wealth.” Led by financial expert Steve LeFever, this program is available to Xerox customers at a 15 percent discount and is made possible through a partnership with Business Resource Services, Inc.

Social Media Workshop
Print providers can learn to leverage social media in sales, marketing and customer service in this workshop. They’ll be shown how social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and blogs can help grow their business and further customer relationships. This workshop complements the previously-released ProfitAccelerator book, “The Print Providers Guide to Social Media.”

Web-to-Print SaaS Solution
The Xerox Advanced Marketing Services Web-to-Print Solution provides a 24/7 storefront that offers on-demand creation and order management for static, versioned and personalized communications. Based on the XMPie uStore Web-to-print platform, the service offering provides system configuration, application development, reporting and service support for an affordable monthly fee – helping customers reduce their capital investment risk while building their businesses.

The new ProfitAccelerator resources will be on display in Xerox booth No. 400 at Graph Expo 2011, Sept. 11-14 in Chicago.

Availability and Pricing
The four offerings are available immediately in North America. Check with a local Xerox sales representative for more details regarding pricing and availability.
